Units of Inquiry

The proposed units of work are:

HISTORY:

Term 1

Australia as a Nation - Federation

Students to develop their historical inquiry skills by investigating the key figures and events that led to Australia's Federation.

 

SCIENCE:

Term 2

Change Detectives

Students' understanding of the factors that influence the rate of change will be developed through hands on activities and student planned investigations. Students become detectives who identify and explain physical and chemical changes in everyday materials such as melting, evaporating, dissolving, reacting and burning.

 

BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS:

Term 3

Students will investigate the process of developing a business  plan in the 'Business Bake Off' unit. 

Students will also work to a budget and investigate the overhead costs when building their 'Dream Home'.

 

 

HEALTH: Family Life Program

Term 3

Health information including an explanation of the physical, social and emotional changes that students may experience through puberty.

 

SCIENCE:

Term 4

Circuits & Switches

An investigation on how electrical energy can be transferred and transformed in electrical circuits and can be generated from a range of sources.
