Education Support Team

The PNG Project

The Education Support team is currently running Enrichment programs across the school focusing on a range of areas. These group sessions give students the opportunity to develop and enhance skills in a small group environment.

Two of our groups, consisting of students from Senior and Middle Units, are developing leadership skills and identifying roles of responsibility while working cooperatively in a group. As part of this, the students are working collectively on a project. The students in these groups have chosen to support a less fortunate school in Papua New Guinea, by making pencil bags and collecting stationery items to send to them later in the year.

Senior Unit girls have discussed and planned what needs to happen to make and collect the required items, including producing an information poster, newsletter article and writing scripts for their presentations to classes across the school.

The Middle Unit group have been involved with the making of the pencil bags and creating individual labels by students that will go on each bag. They are also tracking the progress of The PNG Project.
