Wellbeing

Welcome back to Term 4

I hope you all managed some happy family times over the holidays. I returned to my office to find a very friendly rather placid cockatoo placed on my laptop. A friendly gift from a family at OLHC. What a surprise!

It’s been an exciting year with school friendships and learning for over three consecutive terms. Now it’s the final one. May it be a happy one.

Respectful Relationships

We have much planned this term to finish the year on a truly successful note.

Our school program of Respectful Relationships being taught in Year 1-6 will focus on Problem Solving. The Prep class will focus on Gender Identity and Positive Gender Relationships for this term.

ADHD and Dyslexia Awareness Month

It is ADHD and Dyslexia Awareness Month. Our LSOs, along with the class teachers, support all children at OLHC, some with Dyslexia and/or ADHD. The Light it Red for Dyslexia Campaign begins October 1 and goes through until November 15th. Click here to read more about the campaign.

The Get Onboard Red Paper Plane Challenge is a fun school competition that runs from October 1st to November 15th. Click here to read more about the school campaign.

Wellbeing Leaders

Our wonderful Year 6 Wellbeing Leaders have planned to support and entertain the Prep to 2 children, each Monday at lunchtime. Last Monday commenced with Hula-hoop fun time with Em, which was so well attended. Eloise will be hosting fantastic games time, Raf sharing his amazing drawing skills, encouraging others to draw too & Kai will treat the children to fun times with board games. Then there will be more to follow-parachute fun, origami, paper planes and skipping time.

The Wellbeing leaders will also be surveying the children at recess and lunchtime to see what they think the money raised by the PFOL could buy for the school outdoor areas and playground. We know that swimming pools, a flying fox and football ovals are often at the top of the wishlist. We will let you know the children’s thoughts.

Please enjoy these few photos captured on the last day of Term 3 at Footy day. No sign of a football but lots of persistence, fun and support with friends.

Enjoy a great term at OLHC.

My best wishes
