Principal's Report
Term 3: Principal Report
As we reflect on Term 3 we are encouraged by the energetic participation of our students in enrichment activities and the widespread of student achievements. A huge congratulations needs to be publicly acknowledged to all those involved in:
- An outstanding College Production of Matilda Jr
- Excellent Music Performances in our Spring Concert
- A well-coordinated and engaging Student led Wellfest Week
- Our Sporting Division and Regional Champions
- A very informative Careers Expo
- Year 7 Maths Pi Day
- Various awareness days led by our student leaders
Unit 3&4 Practice Exams
The Term 3 break for all students undertaking a Unit 3&4 subject is an important time to continue maintaining study routines. While practise exams will be conducted onsite during this time with external invigilators, it is important that students balance their leisure time with updating chapter summaries and study notes as well as completing past exam papers leading into the final three weeks of classes when they return in Term 4.
Parent/Guardian/Caregiver Survey
Thank you to all families who have taken the time to complete this survey. Parent opinions are important to us as it contributes to the future management of the school.

Farewell and Thank you
We wish to thank to Ms Stacy Hobson for her contribution to our College. Stacy worked closely with our Administration Team and Student Services Team during her time supporting effective and smooth operations. We wish Stacy the very best as she takes on a new role in another school closer to home.
Covid-19 Isolation Updates
As communicated via Compass, please be informed that the COVID-19 isolation requirements have changed.
Any student or staff member who tests positive to COVID-19 must now isolate for a minimum of 5 days instead of 7. If they are asymptomatic, they may return to school on day 6. If they are symptomatic, they must remain in isolation until day 7. If they have symptoms after 7 days, they are strongly advised to stay home until their symptoms have resolved.
As an additional risk mitigation, the Department of Health strongly recommends that those leaving isolation wear a face mask when away from home, both indoors and outdoors, and when they cannot physically distance. Those leaving isolation on day 6 should wear a mask for 5 days but particularly the first 2 days. Those leaving isolation on day 7 should wear a mask for 4 days but particularly the first 2 days.
Those leaving isolation should consider taking a rapid antigen test before attending school.
We thank everyone for their contribution to South Oakleigh College throughout term 3 and wish everyone a safe and restful break.
