This month Grade 1/2A and P/1S learnt about Diwali.  Diwali is a very important holiday in India. It is a Hindu ‘festival of lights’ which celebrates the New Year. The word Diwali means ‘row of lighted lamps’.

To celebrate we drew rangoli’s which are normally drawn on the floor. These are patterns and the most popular subject is the lotus flower. We also created our own lanterns too.

We had lots of fun learning about this important event and creating beautiful pieces of art.
