SOUTHERN METROPOLITAN REGION SWIMMING RESULTS

On Monday, 7 of our students competed at YAWA in the Southern Metropolitan Region Swimming competition. Competing against students from over 400 schools, our students were great ambassadors for our school. They were respectful, enthusiastic, positive and eager to do their best; and the best they did! Congratulations and well done to:

  • 12/13 Years Girls relay team (7th) – Lila D (6/9), Hayley N (6/9), Hannah J (6/9), Tameka S (6/11)
  • Open Girls Medley (7th) – Cailin R (5/35), Hannah J (6/9), Lila D (6/9), Jaylah R (5/33)
  • Hamish C (6/9) – 3rd, 12/13 Years Backstroke
  • Lila Darcy (6/9) – 7th, 12/13 Years Butterfly

Thank you to all the parents who have supported our swimmers throughout the Swimming program (District, Division and Region). You have all been fantastic – a pleasure to work closely with you. You have been so supportive; bringing your child to training on a Monday and Wednesday and supporting all LPPS swimmers.

A special thank you to Lara S (Will S, 5/35) who has her Surf Bronze qualification and attended the training sessions to ensure I was able to run them.

HOUSE ATHLETICS SPORTS – WHAT A GREAT DAY!

The Year 3 – 6 annual House Athletics carnival was held at Ballam Park yesterday. Once again the students had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed dressing in their House colours, participating in the different events and supporting one another.

The students made it extremely difficult for the House Captains who chose the Best Dressed. I was just so impressed with the effect and enthusiasm all students displayed.

The House Captains, were great leaders – selecting Best Dressed, setting up and packing up equipment, organising the students for the Shuttle Relay and of course, participating in the Premier event – the 4 x 100m relay against the Staff team and Parent team. It was a great race, won by the teachers (Scott Hannah, Sarah Keine and Work Experience and ex- students Oscar D and Luke N). In 2nd place, the parents (Mark C, Andrew K, Andy F and Colin J), 3rd Lindsay Captains, 4th McClelland Captains, 5th Murdoch Captains and 6th Lloyd Captains. A great event enjoy by both the participants and supporters.
