Round Three

Another really difficult week of footy tipping where almost 60% of us would have been better off picking the complete opposite of what we did pick. Anyway, four people managed to get six winners with a further 32 people picking five winners. Of those that picked six, Daniel Brescasin (Class of 2008) was only three points off the margin in the Western Bulldogs win over Brisbane and as such is this week’s winner. Congratulations Daniel, that’s $50 heading your way.

With regards to the overall leader board, Lisa Ballantyne, Jacob Campbell and Sandra Wilson lead the way with 18 winners, there are two people on 17 and a further 13 people on 16.  As an indication of how difficult tipping has been this year, the leaders after three rounds last year were on 21!!

If anyone thought that after Round three that St Kilda would sit on top and that Geelong would sit last you would say that they knew nothing about footy.

Round Four

Round four gets underway on Thursday and goes all the way through to Monday.

Brisbane v Collingwood

Collingwood continue to look good.  Brisbane has won the last three games between these sides played at the Gabba after Collingwood had won the previous six encounters at the Gabba;

North Melbourne v Carlton

North’s bubble burst while Carlton overcame GWS away from home;

Adelaide v Fremantle

Adelaide at home will probably start favourites but Fremantle supporters would like to think they can win this.  Fremantle has beaten Adelaide the last two times the teams have met in Adelaide by a combined margin of 13 points;

Richmond v Western Bulldogs

Richmond should get a few players back, have the Bulldogs rediscovered their mojo?

St Kilda v Gold Coast

The Saints going for four in a row and will fancy their chances at home but as Geelong discovered discount the Suns at your peril;

Sydney v Port Adelaide

Two sides looking to bounce back from very disappointing performances in round three.  Port has won the last two encounters between these sides played in Sydney;

Essendon v GWS

I don’t particularly rate either of these sides;

West Coast v Melbourne

Whatever is left of the Eagles squad will take on a rejuvenated Melbourne team.  I fear this will get ugly; and

Geelong v Hawthorn

18th v 17th. I’m not quite sure anyone can believe how bad Geelong are at the moment, surely they register their first win of the year in this one?
