Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to Term Two. Hope you had some quality time with family and friends, and had a chance to recharge your mind and body ready for another great term of learning.
The first week of the holidays, the Christian faith celebrated Easter. Easter celebrates the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. It is through life, death and resurrection that believers are given the hope of life after death, eternal life. The resurrection of Jesus provides hope for all believers that life as we know it will be changed, not ended, when we die.
As a faith and learning community, we will continue to explore the stories that recall the final days of Jesus’ earthly life.
ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces became known as ANZACs. ANZAC Day is a commemoration of the anniversary of the landing of Australian and New Zealand troops at Gallipoli, Turkey on 25 April in 1915. This is a very special day in Australia’s history. As a school, we will commemorate the day with a small paraliturgy on Wednesday at 10:45am led by the school leaders.
St Fidelis' Feast Day is officially on Monday April 24th. As this is a school closure day, the students will have an opportunity to celebrate our feast day this Friday, April 28th with the following events:
9:15 am | Whole School Mass St Fidelis Feast Day - All Welcome |
11:30am -1:00pm | Fun Activities Day organised by Mick Jennings and assisted by Year 6 Sports leaders |
1:00pm -1:40pm | Lunch Order Day organised by the Parents and Friends for the students who have pre-ordered via QuickCliq |

|
There will be an online meeting regarding the Year 5/6 camp. This is an evening to inform you about Camp WEEKAWAY and an opportunity to ask questions. A link will be sent via SkoolBag closer to the night.
NB: Camp dates have changed to:
TUESDAY JUNE 13TH, WEDNESDAY JUNE 14TH AND THURSDAY JUNE 15TH
If the weather is still mild, I am happy for students to continue wearing the summer uniform when Term Two begins. The students will have until Monday, May the 8th to transition into their full winter uniform.
At St Fidelis, we continue to use hygienic measures daily such as hand sanitising before and after eating, washing hands after going to the toilet, using tissues and disposing them in the bin after use and air purifiers are allocated in all areas of the school.
If your child is presenting with cold-like symptoms it would be appreciated if you keep them home to ensure that germs are not spread in the classroom. If your child is sick at school and demonstrates any cold-like symptoms, parents will be called to come and pick up their child. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding with this request.
There will be a second hand uniform sale on Friday 28th of April in the staffroom. This is an opportunity to stock up on some winter uniform.
If your child is beginning school next year, can you please place an enrolment form in the office by the end of this week. Thank you for your cooperation.
Have a lovely week
Manuela
