Just a little reminder of the processes at Sprout. Please see the updated menu for term 2 attached. 

A Little Bit About Sprout

Our canteen is a part of the school and as such is a not-for-profit service. Our philosophy and aims are to nourish and support students’ learning with nutritious wholefoods that are prepared on site and are preservative and additive free. We hope to contribute to healthy bodies and minds that will assist our children both in the classroom and the playground. Sprout is nut free and every effort is made to accommodate all food allergies. Please contact me with any concerns or questions regarding ingredients and dietary requirements.

Recess

Recess cannot be ordered with a lunch order, recess can only be purchased over the counter at the canteen. This might seem daunting for our Foundies, but it is a wonderful way for students of all ages to engage with the process of handling money, counting, and social interaction with a service provider. In my experience, it doesn’t take long for the little ones to work it out and build confidence!

Ordering Lunches

At present we are cash only. Correct money is appreciated but we always place any change back in with the order. Please let your child know if they need to expect change (and whether they are allowed to spend it!)

• Refer to the menu. Write out your lunch order, including your child’s name and class (your teacher’s initials e.g., unit CB) and place it in a lunchbox along with payment

• Please note, when ordering a toasted sandwich, you are required to add 50c to the cost of the sandwich, as outlined on the menu

• Your child puts the order into the lunch order crate in their classroom first thing in the morning

• The class lunch order crate is then brought to the canteen where the orders are recorded box by box

• Lunches are prepared and packed back into each class box and picked up just before the lunch bell

• If you are ordering for multiple children, please provide a specific lunch order for each child. If payment is in one sibling’s lunchbox, please note this on all orders. This avoids confusion!

• Please do not order icy poles, or hot chocolates in winter, with a lunch order, these will need to be purchased from the canteen. They are not deliverable.

Morning Cafe

Sprout is our community space. Our aim is to create an open, friendly, and relaxed meeting place for the whole school community. Our morning café runs from 9am until about 10 – 10.30am, Eftpos is available, and it is a great way to meet other parents, forge new friendships and stay up to date with what is happening around the school. Please join us!
