A Message from Hannah & Keir

We would like to acknowledge and honour the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which our school stands. We pay our respects to all First Nations elders, past present and emerging.

Welcome Back

We would like to welcome everyone back for term two of 2023. We hope that you all had a restful and restorative holiday, and we are sure that you are all ready to meet the fun and challenges of term two with enthusiasm and creativity.

Walking around the school grounds, you can see that the environment is changing for Autumn. The trees in the courtyard are shedding a beautiful blanket of golden leaves. Please be aware that it is not compulsory to wear sun hats in term two, but as we are still lucky enough to have some glorious sunny days, it may still be a good idea to continue to wear sun hats in the yard.

When the weather does start to get a little colder, BNWPS beanies are available for $25 from the front office.

Another change that you might notice as you walk around the yard is that the upgrades to the portables on the oval are very nearly finished. Classes will be moving into these new learning spaces during the coming week, and Performing Arts will be able to move into the portables facing the courtyard.

Classroom Helpers Workshop

At 10am on Monday 1st May (next Monday!) we will be offering our yearly classroom helpers workshop. This workshop will be facilitated by our Literacy and Foundation teams and will focus on how classroom helpers can support the amazing work that goes on in our classrooms. The workshop will be particularly useful for any new or Foundation families who are keen to help out in the classroom, but might not be clear on what might be involved.  The workshop will go for no more than an hour. Please register your interest in attending by filling out this form.  We would love to see you there.

Congratulations!

We would like to offer our huge congratulations to Alice (Our junior school teacher and leader) and Tom (our P.E. teacher) who are expecting a baby girl in September. The new baby will join Ragnar and Elkie as true BNWPS babies, and we cannot wait to meet her!

We will be sharing information about Alice’s junior school replacement with the community as soon as we are able.

Foundation 2024

There are many families in our BNWPS community who have children that will be starting school at BNWPS in 2024. We are now taking enrolments, and would love to chat to families about what their plans are. If this applies to your family, or anyone that you know,  please give our office a call to organise a tour with some of our senior students and a chat with Hannah or Keir.
