Leadership @ MPS

This week has been amazing. Monty Primary children are amazing.

To have had a full, uninterrupted week of learning has been something that we have been hoping to achieve for many weeks now.  As staff, we have been privy to many joyous moments both inside the classroom and outside in the yard. Learning and laughter - a great combination! May this continue!

We held our Foundation 2022 Information Evening online last week and received great feedback in reference to the use of this online format on this occasion. Whilst we must continue to build connections with each other face to face, it is clear that some of the learnings from the past 18 months can be put to good use. There is value in not needing to book a babysitter and both parents/carers being able to receive information at the same time! Thanks to all that attended! Next year, we plan to vary the way in which we deliver these type of sessions - some will continue to be online and others, in person.

Next week, we are presenting an online webinar for our Grade 6 families in the hope that we can assist with the many questions around transitioning students to Year 7.

A "What to Expect" presentation will be delivered by Lucinda Thom, via Webex on Thursday 1st December at 7pm (the link will be sent via Compass.)  We have been lucky enough to have had Lucinda work with students in our Senior grades for a day a week this year and we are thrilled to be able to announce that Lucinda is coming onboard to Monty next year, in a full time capacity as one of our Leading Teachers. Lucinda has had 28 years of experience in both the curriculum and wellbeing domains and has held many leadership roles over her time in education. This webinar is not to be missed!

Curriculum Day - Wednesday 8th December - Student Free Day

This day is an important day for our staff as we will be participating in First Aid training which must be completed annually. This is our final chance to participate as the date has been moved several times!  Camp Australia will be offering a program on this day if your child requires supervision.

Today we welcomed our 2022 Foundation children to their final transition session.

A picture tells a thousand words...

Have a great weekend.

Stay safe.
