Principal's Message

"Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed no hope at all."

Dale Carnegie

Dear parents, guardians, staff and members of the Brigidine Community,

We have finally reached the end of a year that, for all, has been taxing, full of challenges and fatiguing in every respect. I can only offer my most sincere thanks for the manner in which you have adapted to each of these challenges. The strength of a community can be determined, in large part, by how it finishes a year such as this - and I must say that I am extremely proud of every effort made to enable us to continue to deliver the highest quality of education to the girls.

And I well understand it has been demanding for all. Each Year Group, in their own way, has been an exemplar of resilience. While not everything has been perfect, we have had to continue to meet the many needs in the face of great uncertainty and changing circumstances. It was such a wonderful blessing to be able to have a final farewell to the Year 12 girls at their formal at the Randwick Race Course on Tuesday, 7 December and the smiles on their faces, as well as the parent's was very special indeed.

To all parents, thank you for your support and tremendous efforts during this year. We often speak about the education partnership and it is a reality we have certainly lived over these last 12 months.

To all teachers and staff, thank you also. Your constant dedication, effort and professional approach were evident and a testament to your sense of duty. To my Executive, the strength of your support was appreciated and valued - thank you.

As we draw some breath, I wish for all the most joyous, happy and holy Christmas period. If opportunity allows, please take time for some reflection and valued family moments. To all the girls returning to Brigidine College in 2022, I look forward to seeing all your smiling faces, but not until you have had time to rest and enjoy the company of your family!

Although it is a very holy time for our faith, it is also a very special time to share with those closest to us.

We have walked with strength and gentleness. Let us continue into 2022, inspired by the guidance of St Brigid.

God Bless and Merry Christmas

Sharyn Quirk
