Farewell, Thank you

and Goodbye

from Mrs Sally Mills

Dear Staff, Students, Parents and families,

As our school year draws to a close, and my time to retire from such a rewarding and fulfilling teaching profession becomes a reality for me, I wish to express my heartfelt thanks to our Principal, Paula and the St. Brendan’s School Community for the support, care, encouragement and love during these past 25 years.  As I spend some time now reminiscing and reflecting on my career in education, and particularly, my involvement as a parent, teacher and school leader here at St. Brendan’s, I am so grateful for the wonderful opportunities and experiences in this vibrant and nurturing learning environment, which have strengthened and deepened my commitment and journey in Catholic Education.

I have been privileged and feel so proud to belong to St. Brendan’s, where our role as educators is to look for the opportunities that will enable our students to grow and develop in a school environment, which celebrates the uniqueness of each child in our diverse multicultural and faith filled community.

Every day when I come to school, I feel motivated and energised by the enthusiasm and dynamic spirit of our students, the commitment and dedication of our staff, the diligence and collaboration of our Leadership team, and the generosity, support and involvement of our parents and families. One of the absolute highlights and joys for me recently, and a treasured lasting memory, will be the vision of seeing the children and hearing their excitement and enthusiasm, as they came back to school through the gates, skipping towards their classrooms, so happy to be amongst classmates, friends, and caring teachers and staff.

I wish to especially acknowledge and thank Paula for her inspirational Leadership and guidance, leading the learning, and developing a collaborative culture and approach, ensuring our school Vision that ‘all children can learn and flourish to their full potential’ here at St. Brendan’s school.

I will very much miss you all, however, I am now looking forward to the start of my retirement, spending more time with my husband, Simon and our family, and of course, the next exciting phase in our lives.

Best wishes for joy, peace and happiness in the coming festive season as we celebrate Christmas, and a safe and happy holiday with your families.

Kind regards,

Sally Mills - Deputy Principal
