St. Peter’s College: Providing Learning Adjustments for Students with Individual Needs.

St. Peter’s College supports the rights of students with individual needs to have the same educational opportunities as other students. St Peter’s College acknowledges the specific rights and responsibilities of all members of its community to ensure that students with individual needs are provided with equal access and opportunity to all aspects of life at the college on the same basis as all other students.

When required, St. Peter’s College will provide adjustments and modification to assessment and learning activities for students. Students who would benefit will be identified through an examination of data from PAT Testing, NAPLAN results, and K.L.A Assessment Tasks. Consultation with specialists, teachers, parents and students will also be used to determine whether students require learning adjustments, personalised curriculum, or modified assessments. Teachers may contact you to discuss possible adjustments for your son/daughter.

At St. Peter’s College, we aspire to work effectively in partnership with parents. We would encourage you to discuss with your son/ daughter the learning experiences that they are encountering in the classroom. The forthcoming Parent Teacher Interviews will also enable positive discussions to be held regarding the ongoing growth of your son/ daughter at the college.

In addition to the Learning Enrichment Coordinator’s Ms Ann Jeans – Cranbourne Campus and Ms Margaret Antony – Clyde North Campus, the college has now appointed Learning Adjustment Leaders to work with teachers in building their capacity to ensure students receive the learning adjustments that they require. Mr David Stretch – Cranbourne Campus and Ms Kate Bracegirdle – Clyde North Campus are available for consultation to ensure that the partnership between parents and teachers is working effectively. Your son/daughter’s learning advisor, house leader, and teachers would also value the opportunity to discuss possible individualised learning opportunities at St. Peter’s College should you require clarification.
