Book Week

What an exciting and busy start to Book Week we have had! Our Book Week Parade last week was opened by our Library Captains, Izzy and Kevin reading a poem, 'Reading is My Secret Power' to the whole school. Well done Izzy and Kevin!

This was followed by our fabulous staff pantomime based on Emily Gravett's book 'Cyril and Pat'. Thank you to our wonderful teacher performers, Mr Keen, Ms Males, Ms Dean, Mrs Campbell, Mrs Symes, Ms Mets, Mrs Buivids, Ms Jamieson, Ms Kwong, and our narrator Mrs King. What an adventure and a happy ending!

On Monday we had a fabulous visit from author Patrick Guest, who was shortlisted for this year's Children's Book Council of the Year Awards with his book 'The Dress- Up Box'.  He entertained us with his fabulous storytelling, and messages about friendship, kindness, and being yourself. On Tuesday we will have a visit from author Judith Rossell, followed on Wednesday with a Japanese Storyteller, and Friday our Chinese Story time with 'A Little Chinese Adventure'.

Mr Quinn kicked off our afternoon story time in the Library with some fabulous stories including 'Mr Huff'. Thank you to all the families and students who came along! More stories after school on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
