Parliament Convention

On Tuesday the 6th of August, Amiya and Madeleine travelled by train into the city to take part in the Victorian Primary Schools Parliamentary Convention, 2019. There were students participating from 47 public and private schools around Victoria. We discussed and debated the following topic: should athletes and other celebrities be able to use their popularity to influence social and political issues? We sat in the legislative assembly and debated, similar to how both federal and state parliaments operate here in Australia. 

Over all, the experience was incredible as we learnt so much from everyone participating. We hope Orchard Grove gets a chance to participate in this event again.
