Principal's Message

Farewell
As you read last week from Kim Thurlow (School Council President) I have been appointed to the Principal position at Blackburn Primary School which will start at the beginning of the 2018 school year. I will therefore be leaving Ripponlea Primary School at the end of this term. My decision to leave RPS was deeply considered and ultimately based around stability for me and my family.
It has been a privilege to be Principal of Ripponlea Primary School. It is an excellent school with strong community involvement, a dedicated staff and lovely children. Our work over the year has strengthened the school in many areas and positioned the school well for ongoing development. Our current preparations for Term 1 next year should ensure a smooth start to the school year.
I would like to thank the School Council for their work during my time as Principal, as well as all the dedicated community members who put in many hours of work in so many ways, to make RPS a better place. The RPS community is absolutely something to behold and a credit to the school and the way that it brings together the staff, students and families.
I would also like to acknowledge and thank the immensely talented and dedicated staff who have supported me during my time at the school. Your children are enrolled in a wonderful place, with highly skilled educators always looking for new ways to improve, extend and challenge the learning that is provided at RPS.
I wish all of you a wonderful Christmas and holiday period.
Andrew
