Winter has arrived and with it out-and-about went the Year 11 Digital Photography class to brave the weather for their excursion to capture images for their next project.
Mr Shepley’s class, accompanied by Mrs Hansen, had a great day in the city capturing photos of the Central Market, Town Hall and the city surrounds. The excursion gives the students the opportunity to source their own images, make personal choices for their project direction and gain further experience in using the digital SLR cameras.
Students focused their skills on how to frame the image. Thought into the composition of the image and perspective were key.
The images will be used to create promotional material for the City of Adelaide. We hope to show you all the results of their work shortly through our exhibitions and display at Cibo, Prospect Road.
I would like to thank Mr Shepley and Mrs Hansen for their work in taking the students out on excursion to the streets of Adelaide. Creating opportunities with that replicate real-life experiences are vital for students to see industry connections and it builds their understanding of skills required for the subject.
My Year 10 Architectural Drafting classhad a visit from the City of Prospect Town Planner, Mr Rick Chenoweth. Rick spoke for the lesson about his role in the council and his career pathway. He shared some planning changes and vision for the built environment of Prospect. He asked the boys to participate in the current data / research exercise as a housing study the council is currently undertaking to gain the community's input. The boys completed the survey and I urge more members of the community to visit the council website and have their say in what is important for the City of Prospect’s future.
