Digital Technology

Welcome back to Term 2!

During this strange time as you know, Tarneit P-9 College has begun online remote teaching. The Digital Technology Leaders have been working hard to support staff by improving their professional development in online remote teaching, so they can effectively deliver remote-learning resources to your child/children.

This term, as your child is undertaking remote-learning at home, we have created weekly cyber safety lessons to support your child’s understanding on how to be cyber safe when using their digital devices when learning from home.

Please look out for the lesson that your child’s teacher posts on their Google Classroom, so you can support your child on how to be safe online and what to do if they do not feel safe.

If you have any queries to support your child in remote learning, please feel free to contact the school via phone or email. If the query is related to your child’s learning, the best way to contact your child’s teacher is through compass directly.

Kind Regards,

Tarneit P-9 Digital Technology Leaders

Online Safety

We are now in the second week of Distance Learning Mode. Online safety is very important as parents and carers become the main monitor of their child's access to the internet at home.

The eSafety Commissioner has provided some advice and tips and offers live webinars that explore the latest research and expert advice for using technology safely. They are a great way to learn how you can help your child develop the skills to be safer online.

A booklet that provides advice to parents and guardians about keeping children safe online during the COVID-19 pandemic is also available from the eSafety Commissioner. You can download it here:

COVID-19 Global Online Safety Advice for Parents and Carers

If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s online safety, please contact your child’s teacher or the school.
