Meet our New Staff
Welcome to the new members of our Box Hill team!
A very warm welcome to the new staff who have joined us this term. We asked some of them to introduce themselves. Others will be introduced in our Term 2 newsletter.
Robyn Dyer
I have taught English, History and Humanities for over thirty years and recently retired in 2019. I previously taught at Mullauna College for many, many years where my roles included Year Level Coordinator and Head of Humanities.
I am very passionate about History from ancient times through to the modern world. If we understand our past, we can understand where we are now and decide what might happen in the future.
Outside of school, I enjoy painting, reading, spoiling our Dachshund Oscar and I love to travel with my family. Hopefully, I will be able to travel to Europe again and visit many places on my bucket list and those I just want to see again. London and Paris are calling me again….
I am excited to be a part of the Box Hill High School community as a literacy tutor and I look forward to working with lots of students and supporting them with their studies.
Nicholas Ford
Nicholas Ford is a VCE Legal Studies and Business Management teacher who has come from Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College.
He has worked as Unit Coordinator and Teaching Associate for Legal Studies Education in the Victorian Secondary Years at Monash University, Clayton for the past five years. He was previously a Student Wellbeing Coordinator at Northcote High School.
Nicholas is excited to join Box Hill, having been very impressed by their Wellbeing programs, as well as looking forward to working in a co-educational setting again.
He also owns way too many pairs of shoes!
Nicholas Barca
I am thrilled to be joining Box Hill High School as Junior School Engagement leader. I have come from Mount Waverley Secondary College, where I was their Junior School Leader, teaching Humanities/Business. I am really looking forward to supporting our junior students this year alongside Mr McGlade, Fiona and the Coordinators. I love the performing arts (I am also a drama teacher) and spend as much time looking after my little niece.
Gabi Bergman
I’m very excited to be joining the wonderful staff at Box Hill in 2021 as a Junior Art and Drama teacher. I hold a double Arts Degree in Theatre Studies and Film/Screen Studies, and recently completed my Masters of Teaching, all from Monash University. I’ve always had a love for all facets of The Arts, and in my free time I’m mostly doing theatre things; whether that’s writing about it, seeing it, or performing in it! When I’m not theatre-ing about, you can find me playing tennis, painting, or lost in a good book.
Rachel Grawich
I am a Health and Physical Education Teacher originally from Ballarat. I love all things sport related, particularly netball and basketball, and enjoy getting out into the outdoors. This is my first year of teaching and I’m super excited to be apart of the HPE Department here at Box Hill High School.
