Generation Celebration

What a great day last Thursday, when we had our generation celebration. It was such a reflective and special day that also gave both Scott and I the opportunity to find out even more about our school’s very proud and rich history.

My thinking around this celebration started some time ago when a Grandparent (Ken Guyett) walked past me in the school yard and inquired as to whether or not we still had the fire place in the admin building. Ken told me it was once his job to chop the wood (down near the soccer pitch) and carry it up to the admin area and put on the fire to keep the school house warm. I was amazed by this piece of information and just had to investigate further.

It was really special for all of us to gather on Thursday and go through the photos, archives and registers and also for the grandchildren to be able to take their parents and grandparents on a tour of their school. Thanks to everyone involved and I hope you all grabbed a copy of the Geelong Advertiser, Friday 26th March.
