Congratulations to Year 7 student, Isobel Mitchell, who was chosen to represent the Tasmanian Football Umpires Association at last weekend's Community Umpiring Round. Isobel attended the AFL game between North Melbourne and Melbourne at Blundstone Arena.

Isobel was given the opportunity to meet AFL umpires, walk onto the ground with them at the start of the game and quiz them on all things relating to umpiring a football game.

Congratulations to Year 9 student Maggie Campbell, who spent her school holidays travelling around the country dancing.

Her first trip was to Western Australia for the WA State Highland Dancing Championships and placed 5th overall in her age group.  This was the first championship in close to 18 months, so all dancers were keen to see one another and catch up.

Next it was onto the Gold Coast for the  National Highland Dancing Championships where Maggie won her sections against dancers from all over the country.

Rostrum Voice of Youth

Five secondary students represented the College on Saturday 1 May in the Rostrum Voice of Youth public speaking competition.

The competition involves students writing and presenting a 6-minute prepared speech, followed by a 3-minute short notice speech on a topic provided 15 minutes prior to them having to present.

This competition is an excellent opportunity for students to develop their confidence in speaking in front of a live audience.

Congratulations to Aaliyah Onwuegbuzie, Imogen Mulder, Sophie Aylett, Emma Sullivan and Aimee Stacey who all demonstrated their excellent speech writing and delivery skills at the Southern Regional Final.
