Isolation Survival Kit

A few weeks ago, the Year 7’s and 8's across MGC were asked to photograph a collection of the items that have helped them get through isolation, which they called their ‘Isolation survival Kit’ and which would turn into a jaw-dropping still life art piece . I was one of the Year 7’s who participated in this activity, from my personal experience it was a blast. Reading, painting and sewing are just a few of the things that I enjoy, that clear my head, since I have of been staying at home more than usual, during my breaks I often do such activities so I decided to incorporate this into my photograph. As I was setting up the objects in certain places deciding which one was best and whether or not a filter would make or break the piece of art, I thought about my experience in isolation, and how it has affected myself and others. I hadn’t realized just how much my choices of entertainment had helped me survive isolation and get me through such difficult times. What would I do if I wasn’t able to spend my free time being able to sit down and sew, paint or read? These are activities I love doing and I am not sure what the answer would be to that question. My fellow classmates and I have all sat down and thought about a few things that have gotten them through isolation, put them all together in a wonderful way and taken a photo making their Isolation survival kit into a beautiful piece of still life art.
