CAREERS EXPO
Unfortunately due to the current situation, Year 11 will not have the opportunity to attend the annual Career Expo in Leeton in which MCC would normally be involved. This event would enable the students to have the opportunity to chat to potential Universities, TAFE, Australian Defence Forces and other GAP year experiences. They can answer questions about accommodation, enrolments, early acceptance to universities and any other questions you may have.
Year 11 students and interested Year 12 should register for a time that best suits yourself next Thursday afternoon. Your parents can also register and chat to future prospects as the expo is open until 8pm.
Year 10 students/parents can register if they feel it would assist with subject selection later in the year.
Interested students, teachers and parents should register at https://youthsense.com.au/events/year13s-digital-careers-expo/
- 27 - 31 May: HSC and Beyond Virtual Careers Expo
- 24–28 June: VCE and Beyond Virtual Careers Expo

University of Canberra announcing the introduction of the UC Uplift package – a series of initiatives that we either currently offer or will be putting in place to support both school leavers and non-school leavers being impacted by COVID-19. UC Early Offer Round – based on the Schools Recommendation Scheme (13 August) In addition to participating in the SRS early offer rounds in November, UC has also been working with UAC to set up a separate early offer round in August this year. Designed to provide peace of mind to anxious Year 12 students in 2020, the UC Early Offer Round will be based on the mechanics of the SRS process. Students will be required to submit an SRS application via UAC by Sunday 5 July, Release early offers will be during the 13 August UAC offer round. A condition of the offer will be the completion of Year 12, but like the standard SRS process, offers will be based solely on the school’s recommendation of the propensity for the student to perform in a tertiary setting. https://www.canberra.edu.au/future-students/apply-now/alternative-entry/schools-recommendation-scheme See also Webinar for future students on May 20 to find out more https://www.canberra.edu.au/events/Home/Event/160594

For the first time, exemptions will be removed through the Schools Recommendation Scheme and Leaders and Achievers Entry Scheme. Mq.edu.au/study/year-12-early-entry. As well, there are other factors we can use to assess your suitability. That’s why we have 11 different admission pathways to Macquarie; ten of these assess your suitability on more than a selection ranking based on your raw ATAR or on your ATAR plus adjustment factors providing additional points.
