Cleaning & facilities management

DET advises that:

Environmental cleaning, coupled with regular hand hygiene, remains important to reduce the risk of coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission.

 At WARRNAMBOOL COLLEGE we will:

  • Continue extension of routine environmental cleaning, including progressive cleaning throughout the day to ensure that risks of transmission are reduced for high-touch services.
  • Supply staff with hand sanitiser for all rooms, detergent, antibacterial wipes and cloth.
  • Provide adequate anti-bacterial wipes for students to wipe down equipment (that’s not washed in a sink, etc.) at the end of lessons.
  • Place hand sanitiser bottles inside each classroom in a plastic holder and students / staff will be asked to use this at the start and end of each lessons.
  • Carefully consider the necessity of using shared items or equipment e.g.: shared computers, class sets of teaching and learning materials, musical instruments etc at this time.
  • We will be practising hand hygiene immediately before and after use of shared equipment.
  • Student and staff toilets will be cleaned three times a day.
  • ‘High touch’ areas (door handles, internal handrails, etc.) to be cleaned twice a day.
  • Canteen space to be cleaned after each break.
  • Classroom bins emptied twice a day.
  • Tables / benches to be cleaned regularly.
