Reuniting with old friends

The Class of 2008

In November, 2018, the Trinity College Colac class of 2008 held its 10 year reunion.

This event took place at the College beginning with a welcome and long-overdue catch up in the Jubilee Centre.

With a good attendance, the group of 30 ex-Collegians were then taken on a walking tour of the school to see the somewhat strange, yet familiar grounds and facilities.

This immediately reignited memories and the stories from yesteryear flowed.

Following the tour, the group returned to the Jubilee Centre where a number of not-so-formal speeches were made. These speeches included the retelling of some of the more iconic moments that occurred during our time at Trinity, and also the showing of videos and pictures from the years 2002-2008.

Some “remember when…” conversation starters were a highlight of these speeches, which prompted many a memory.

This was a fantastic time for the ex-Collegians to reflect on what we would all describe as the best years of the College!

The celebrations continued at the Botanic Café on the Lake where we would welcome even more ex-Collegians and their partners over some drinks, appetisers and canapes. The vibe was surreal – a combination of nostalgia, excitement, joy and gratitude that we were able to be part of such a great year level and College community.

Over the evening, friendships that may have been somewhat forgotten were reformed and new and exciting relationships with our peers were also developing.

All our lives have changed over the 10 years following our seemingly world-ending stressful final exams back in 2008, but yet it was evident that the bonds and relationships we had created throughout our time at Trinity were just as strong as ever.
