Facilities Upgrade

Mr Faisal Mir

The Christmas break is the longest and restful break for most staff but for our Facilities Department, it is an opportunity to upgrade some of our assets that need a desperate uplift to improve the asset condition and compliment the new contemporary style of learning and teaching. Below are the highlights of the work that was completed.

Art Tech Upgrade

Apart from the funky and punchy external wall colours, the building had radical changes to the textiles and visual arts room that now allow the teachers to perform their jobs to the best of their abilities. During renovation, we removed a fume cupboard that had no purpose in the textiles room and we converted the space into a display cabinet equipped with a vintage sewing machine, a spinning wheel and a donated kimono (yet to be installed).

Gymnasium Upgrade

The Gym corridor looked dull with worn out carpet which required a desperate uplift as it is a high foot traffic area. Other upgrades included the drama room feature wall colour change to dark charcoal.

Junior Years

The building works is going ahead at a good pace, and you can now see the structure almost complete. The more finicky work will commence, and we are still looking at completion in July 2022 despite immeasurable COVID-19 delays.

Upper Junior Years Playground

The playground will be ready to be occupied in the third week of Term 1 as COVID-19 delays were out of everyone’s control. The playground includes a tubular slide, monkey bars, flying fox, inground trampoline, climbing net (to be installed in March) and bridges. This playground was designed to provide an adequate work out for our students young and vibrant minds.
