Learning Enrichment - Chess Academy and Tutoring
Mrs Christina Jasem
We were very pleased to see so many students participate in the school chess program during 2021.
Some of the students also participated in the NSC Victorian Inter-school chess zonals and as a team they were successful in winning the Zonal qualifying heat for the State Semi-Finals. A great result.
In Term 1 we were hoping to hold lessons at the school. However, after much deliberation, considering current conditions we have decided that the chess program will be held online to avoid disruptions and possible later inconvenience to parents and students. For full details and to enrol your child in the GNLC Term 1 2022 school chess program, please visit:

For those who are not able to attend the after-school program at GNLC, Chess Academy also offer general online programs, on various days and times, open to students from any school.
See www.chessacademy.com.au for details.
First lesson started on Monday 7 February but it is not too late to enrol.
We are excited to let you know about the growth of the tutoring partnership Good News Lutheran College has been developing with A Team Tuition. A Team is completely unique in their tutoring approach and isn't a typical tutoring company. Alongside tutoring core subjects, their approach focuses on developing student confidence, motivation, and grades. They have an impressive track record, helping students across Australia succeed at school during the past decade. The A Team tutors are aligned with our assessments and curriculum and can deliver the tutoring online, at your home or onsite at GNLC. They can tutor all subjects and year levels and focus on building study strategies, routines and support mechanisms to help every student succeed in their goals.
We have two new programs launching in 2022.
