Congratulations to our school Athletics team who competed last Wednesday at Duncan MacKinnon Athletics track. Valkstone finished an amazing 3rd place out of 8 schools!

We had some excellent individual results recorded including:

9/10 year old boys ‘A’ relay –               1st place. Archie, Miklos, Campbell and Brendan.

9/10 year old boys ‘B’ relay team –    2nd place. Ethan, Faris, Lio and Alan.

11 year old girls ‘B’ relay team –         1st place. Clementine, Ethesha, Emma and Julia.

11 year old boys ‘B’ relay team –        2nd place. Sammy, Zlatan, Adam and Benji.

12/13 year old boys ‘A’ relay team – 1st place. Matty, Aiko, Gil and Tidiane.

Interschool sport report

Congratulations to our grade 6 summer sports teams. We had Lawn Bowls, Hot Shots Tennis, Rounders and Softball teams all make the grand finals. The Hot Shots team was successful in winning the Moorabbin District event. Rounders, Lawn Bowls and Softball were all runners up in some close, hard fought games. Well done to all of our year 6 students on a fantastic (although somewhat interrupted) year of sport! 

GRADE 4 BIKE REPORT

Well done to our grade 4 students on completing their first Bike Ed course last week.

Students completed a theory session in the morning, practical riding sessions in the middle of the day and then fun bike games in the afternoon. Students learnt how to turn, ride in a straight line, scoot, and brake, navigate roundabouts and obstacles and scan. Student’s skill level increased significantly over the course of the day as did their awareness about road safety and riding.
