Year 9 News

Vermont Secondary College

Welcome back to all students to onsite learning for 2022, especially our Year 9 cohort. It is so nice to see all your smiling faces, and hearing your chit chat as you walk past the Year 9 SM office in the morning.

We are excited with our new ‘space’. I hope you love the outdoor space as much as your student managers do!

The Year 9 student managers, and the year 9 cohort are going to work closely with our Food staff to establish a ‘herb garden’ in our area. Students, staff and Vermont families we NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE!

Please check at home in your own garden and see if you would consider donating something to put into our garden. We welcome all herbs, fruit trees (eg lime or lemons are top of our list), chilli plants, Mr B loves a ‘hot hit’ in his lunch, Mr Healey would like some fruit trees or plants that we can make dessert and Ms Le, the queen of rice paper rolls! The more herbs the better!

We hope you are all excited attending new electives, meeting new teachers and the opportunities of making friends across the three Houses. Let’s start off the year strong, stay focused in class, do your best and be kind to your teachers and classmates.

It’s going to busy Term 1, so remember to check Compass, check daily bulletins, read your emails daily and keep your eyes on the Year 9 Teams channel. Looking forward to our first friendly battle next week at the Swimming Carnival! Remember, to attend the carnival, your parents must complete permissions & payment online). See you all there is your House colours!!
