WELCOME 2022 MUSIC STUDENTS

Our Instrumental Music Team are excited for the year ahead as we welcome all re-enrolled students as well as our newest Music students who we can’t wait to meet in your first lessons and band rehearsals. 

We also welcome our newest Instrumental Music Teachers in Mr. Nguyen (Singing teacher/Choir Leader) and Ms. Evelyn Wang (Strings -Violin and Viola teacher/Junior Strings Leader) to our community. 

We are still looking to fill spaces in lessons for Voice, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Violin, Viola, Cello and Percussion/Drums.

LESSONS

Our Instrumental Music Lessons will commence week 3 (starting Monday 8th)

A copy of the weekly timetable will be posted outside the Music Centre in the window, but students can find their lesson times on their Compass schedule.

ENSEMBLES

Ensemble rolls have been collated and will be posted on to the noticeboard in the Music Centre. We will start ensemble rehearsals in week 3. (Monday 14th) except Rookie Band and Junior String Orchestra which will commence in week 5.

CONTEMPORARY BAND PROGRAM

This year we are hoping to build our Contemporary band Program with a focus on 4-6 piece Rock/Pop/Folk bands. For students interested in this, please keep a look out on the Compass Newsfeed for expressions of interest.

HIRING INSTRUMENTS

For students who have opted to hire an instrument for 2022, these will be allocated in their first lesson by their instrumental Music Teachers. If a hire agreement has been signed and returned to the school, the student can take their instruments home as of next week. 

MUSIC SUPPORT GROUP

The Music Support Group (MSG) is a group of parents, students and friends who support the instrumental music program with fundraising, concert events and excursions throughout the year. The group meets for an hour twice a term after hours to discuss upcoming events and to share ideas about how best to support the Music Program here at Vermont.  It is a great way to meet other parents, make a connection with the school and provide support for students involved. If you are interested in participating, volunteering or getting involved, please contact 8872 6369.
