IT Update

System Rollovers and Student Login Details

All our internal and external IT systems and applications have been rolled over into 2022 and your new 2022 classes are now available to access.

To assist student's in logging in to our various IT systems and applications, we have again created a one-page sheet containing all of the student's usernames and passwords for the various systems.

These can be found by clicking this link.

To further support the ease of use in our IT systems, you will notice we have standardised the students' usernames and passwords across our systems where possible.

If you experience any issues with accessing your new 2022 classes or if students are missing or incorrectly allocated, please log an IT help desk call on the portal.

SeeSaw

To support our new families at Jackson School in 2022, can classroom teachers please print off parent invites in SeeSaw for any families who are not yet connected.

Families connected in 2021 will automatically be rolled over into their child's new 2022 class.

Teachers are also asked to send a private message to all parents to introduce themselves and send home their classroom visual timetable. This message will then open the messaging line of communication so parents can message you directly through Seesaw.

We are aiming again to have 100% of our families connected to SeeSaw and Xuno in 2022.

All official whole school communication will be published centrally in both SeeSaw and Xuno.

Please continue to use Xuno or SeeSaw to communicate with parents.

Should you need assistance with printing your family invites, please review this article or contact IT support.

@Education Migration Project Update

We are continuing with our project to migrate all of our IT systems across to use DET's systems and infrastructure.

The following updates have been made over the holidays:

  • Xuno authentication has been migrated to use your DET eduPaSS credentials. Please use the sign in with Microsoft button when logging in to Xuno and authenticate using your @education email address and password
  •  All student & shared devices and new staff devices have been reimaged with Windows 11 and staff and students will now login using their @education/@schools login details (refer to IT login sheets for student login details). In early term 1, we will update and migrate all staff devices to Windows 11. An email will be sent out with a schedule for when your device will be updated and the tasks required prior to your device being updated.
  • PaperCut including accessing the photocopier and printing from iPads has been migrated across to use your @education/@schools login details.

New Photocopiers

During the first half of 2022, we will be receiving new photocopiers throughout the school.

These new photocopiers will replace all the current printers which we have throughout the school.

In addition to a replacement for the two main photocopier, we have procured an additional 6 smaller A4 photocopiers that will be placed in a central location in all blocks except Block 3.

All of the photocopiers will be linked with PaperCut and require you to log in using a new RFID Card (which will replace your current Staff ID Card).

An additional feature called Follow Me Printing will be set up which will allow you to release any of your print jobs on any of the photocopiers throughout the school.

Further information will be provided to staff on features and usage closer to the photocopiers delivery.

1:1 Device Program

In early 2022 we will be rolling out a 1:1 device program to all students from years 3 - 12.

For students in years 3 - 8 and our ASDAN students, each student will be allocated an iPad and for our years 9, 10 and VCAL students, each student will be allocated a laptop.

Our foundation students will still be allocated the existing model of 5 iPads per class.

For our students in 3-12, this new model will replace the existing model in 2021 where each class was allocated 5 iPads and 5 laptops.

Class sets of laptops and iPads will be available to borrow from the IT office. Please book them on Xuno first using the room and resource booking section.

Whilst we wait for the delivery and rollout of our new iPads (most staff will be receiving a new iPad and the existing staff iPads will be allocated to students), as a temporary model, each class in years 5-8 will be allocated 5 iPads to use.

The 1:1 device program for our year 9-10 and VCAL students will be available from day 1 2022.

Further information will be shared with staff when we are closer to rolling out the new iPads.

IT Support

If you experience an issue with any IT system or peripheral, please log a help desk call on the portal and Lukas or Andy will resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

For urgent IT support, please call extension 214.

During Term 1, we are anticipating higher demand for IT support across the school whilst building works are finalised and classes settle in.

During this time, we ask that you please log IT help desk calls rather than catching Andy or Lukas and notifying them of your issues verbally and be patient whilst Andy and Lukas work through the all outstanding IT help desk calls.

Communication through Teams and Email

In 2022 we will continue to use Microsoft Teams for all of our internal communication. Please remember to @mention staff members or teams so they receive notifications. We ask all staff members to remember to 'like' important messages so the sender knows these have been received.

Any important whole-school information and messages will continue to be sent via email so they don't get missed in the Staffroom message feed. Please continue to check your emails daily. Please get any whole school DL messages approved by a member of the leadership team before sending them.

The whole school email distribution groups have been updated for 2022. Please find the list below which contains all the email distribution groups. These may be used for important whole school/team correspondence.
