Performing Arts update

I’d like to welcome everyone back to Shelford for 2022. What a start it has been! We hosted our inaugural Music Camp on 29 and 30 January. Students from Senior Strings, Corelli Strings, Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble were able to get a head start on the year, working on repertoire for some upcoming performances. I would like to thank all the staff and students involved over the weekend.

The start of 2022 certainly brings a great deal of optimism for the year ahead. With performances back on the cards, all ensembles have started back for 2022. I know that everyone is looking forward to seeing families back onsite for our performances over the year.

Instrument teaching staff changes

I would also like to pass on some staffing changes for 2022.

Ms Jiyou Yang is teaching Ms Jessie Chow’s oboe classes (Ms Chow was teaching oboe at Shelford in the second half of 2021). Ms Yang will be starting at Shelford on 15 February, so in the meantime Mr Bob Miller is covering the oboe teaching.

Ms Geraldine Breedon is taking leave for Term 1, with Ms Katherine Semanov covering her flute teaching. Ms Semanov is a past Shelford student and is very much looking forward to working with the Music Department.
