Parent Class Representatives

Each year the School calls for volunteer parents to be the Class Rep from Prep–Year 12.

This role assists Shelford Girls’ Grammar to communicate with parents, organise a class event per term and assist with volunteers. Duties include:

  • Encouraging cohesion within the year level by organising social events for parents and families, e.g. coffee morning at a café once a term, class picnic or parent drinks.
  • Contacting new and existing parents and welcoming them to social functions.
  • Supporting events and activities organised by the School and the Shelford Parents’ Association.

We understand some classes may already have a class representative, and we are thankful for the initiatives already taken.

These representatives will be supported by our Community Engagement Coordinator, Jessica Coffey (jcoffey@shelford.vic.edu.au) who is happy to answer any questions on this role.

Volunteers

There are a variety of volunteering opportunities coming up at Shelford.

  • SPA – SPA have a range of activities including stalls and world teachers day gifts.
  • Second hand uniform shop – SPA is looking for volunteers to support running the Uniform Shop on specific dates and times.
  • Events – we are looking for parents to be on the organising committee to support the logistics and planning of events, including the Quaerite Dinner, Mother's Day and Fathers Day events.
  • Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and festive stalls and events. Traditionally, SPA has run market days for the Junior School students to purchase low cost items as presents for these special days. In addition, Shelford and SPA have worked together to organise parent and special friends’ breakfasts on these days.

If you are interested in being a class representative or volunteering in a particular area, please let Jessica Coffey know by email at jcoffey@shelford.vic.edu.au
