As Term 3 draws to a close, two changes have been put in place for Term 4.
The first is integrated sport for Years 7 to 10. Currently, we are hosting sport at school on Friday afternoons for over 500 students which is proving difficult with the resources available, especially on wet days.
Yesterday in Homeroom, teachers gave out new timetables for Term 4. These show integrated sport for Years 7 to 10, with Year 7 on Tuesday, Year 8 on Wednesday, Year 9 on Thursday and Year 10 on Friday.
This will hopefully allow for a better sports program with our resources at school under the current restrictions.
Students will wear their sports uniform to school on their designated sport day.
The second change for Term 4 is the bell times for both Mondays.
Currently, the lessons on Monday are shortened by either 5 or 10 minutes to accommodate our assembly or wellbeing time in the morning.
For next term, Monday will have the same bell times as the other four days with Assembly, Chapel or Wellbeing time rotating through Period 1 on different days.
Below is the schedule for the term. Put simply, Monday for Weeks 1 and 2, Tuesday for Weeks 3 and 4, Wednesday for Weeks 5 and 6 and Thursday for Week 7.
Week 1 Monday Period 1 School Assembly
Week 2 Monday Period 1 School Assembly/Leadership Inductions
Week 3 Tuesday Period 1 Wellbeing/Chapel
Week 4 Exams – Years 7 - 10
Week 5 Wednesday Period 1 Assembly/Chapel
Week 6 Wednesday Period 1 Wellbeing/Chapel
Week 7 Thursday Period 1 Assembly/Chapel
On their new timetables, students still have the same teacher and classes, but the time and possibly the room will have changed.
These changes have already synchronised through to Compass which can help the students with their organisation until they are used to the changes.
These two measures are being trialled for Term 4 and hopefully will provide a more functional and consistent structure in the current situation.
