COLLEGE CAPTAINS

Reflections & Introductions

As Term 3 comes to an end we are able to reflect upon what has happened in all aspects of our College and prepare ourselves for the final term of the year. Term 3 has been a fun and educational term for all. With Year 11 completing their exams, dominating the Roesler Shield, Carroll Cup, Combined Wagga Hockey, Agriculture Online Junior Judging, Ration Challenge and numerous other events.  With COVID-19 still prevalent globally and nationally, we have been fortunate enough to be able to come to school and learn face to face, using the fantastic resources that we have available for all of us.

George Kirolus – College Captain

Since joining the College in 2016, I have always felt the continuous love and support from my teachers and peers, allowing me to develop over these past years into the person I am today. Throughout my time at The Riverina Anglican College, I have developed an understanding of the importance of serving one another, inspiring me to apply for a leadership role in 2021. To be part of the 2021 Leadership Team is truly a privilege and I am looking forward to working with the entire group to enhance the College and its many aspects over the next twelve months. While working with the entire Leadership Team to further develop College connections and community, I also aim to support and encourage all members of the College through motivating and helping those in need. My goal is to continue to develop the supportive culture we have, while also developing other aspects, such as the arts, academics, sports and fellowship.

Holly Wilson – College Captain

The Riverina Anglican College has allowed me to continue to strive to reach my full potential in all aspects of my school life and in the wider community. I am excited to have the opportunity to give back and serve the College after the many opportunities that have been offered to me. I am looking forward to working with a dynamic and diverse group of leaders, who are so passionate about all aspects of College life.  I aim to focus on promoting an inclusive, supportive and prosperous College environment, enhancing relationships amongst members of the community, within and across all year groups, K-12. I aim to promote an academic and internationally-minded culture amongst students and staff, including service to charities assisting internationally.

Inigo Bardos – College Vice-Captain

Throughout my time at The Riverina Anglican College, I have witnessed many kind and admirable student leaders provide a culturally diverse environment in which my fellow leaders have been part of. Ever since my initial years at the College, I have wanted to do the same. The College has provided me with all the necessary tools to help me build a foundation for excellence, and I aim to utilise these tools to for the benefit of all other students at the College, maintaining a cohesive and friendly environment in which future students can be inspired to be the very best they can be, in all aspects of College life. As such, I desire to provide a strong connection between students and teachers that not only assists students with their learning and personal excellence, but also provides continuous opportunities for effective communication across different cultures and generations.

Caitlin Rodham – College Vice-Captain

The Riverina Anglican College community has shaped me into the person I am today, providing me with the skills needed to grow as a leader and as an individual. The teachers and my fellow students have supported and guided me throughout my schooling years, allowing me and encouraging me to achieve my goals. The culture of the College is what made me want to apply for a leadership position, as it motivated me to want to make a difference within our community and to push myself to strive for my best. My goal as a leader is to motivate and inspire the younger years to reach their potential in everything that they aspire to do as well as encouraging the wider community to try new things and continue developing a fun and engaging environment for all.  I also look forward to working with our spectacular Leadership Team that I believe will achieve great things together this year.

After a busy term, we are grateful for the opportunity to be able to engage with members of the community through each newsletter. As a collective, the Leadership Team looks forward to being able to represent the College in the coming year and we are grateful for this opportunity. We endeavour to work together to provide an environment in which students can excel in academic, cultural, service and sporting areas of the College. We would love to engage with students at all times so please feel free to email or find us on the College grounds. Next term, the Leadership Team will come together and develop our goals and vision for 2021. We look forward to Term Four, as we begin our roles, continue in our senior HSC and IB studies and create opportunities for College-wide activities and engagement in this challenging landscape.
