Then & Now

Here’s Mrs Morley as a smiling grade one student, cute as a button! At the time Mrs Morley was a student at Baxter Primary School on the Mornington Peninsula. Although she was born in Croydon, Mrs Morley spent most of her early years living on a farm with her family in Baxter. She loved farm life, in particular, she enjoyed helping her dad with whatever activity he was doing to keep the farm running. Apparently she’s a handy fencer and not bad at cleaning out a shed or two!

As a child she didn’t like hanging around inside and she was a self-confessed ‘tom boy’.

Mrs Morley has fond memories of her time at Baxter Primary School. She enjoyed playing and learning in a relatively small school. When she was in Year 9 her family moved from Baxter to the more suburban Frankston. She attended Frankston High School, which was much larger than her primary school, and although she sometimes found high school to be a challenge, she persevered and completed Year 12.

During her teenage years she started to develop an interest in food. She was inspired by her nana, who owned a cake shop and a fabulous Home Economics teacher she had at school. When she completed Year 12 she was unsure whether she wanted to become a teacher or a dietitian. Fortunately for us, she pursued an education degree and she hasn’t looked back!

Thanks for sharing Mrs Morley. We think you look just as cute now as you did all those years ago.
