PENGUINS

I wrote this haiku after watching the live videos of penguins at Phillip Island
Cute, tiny creatures
Tuxedo black, white and grey
Raft in the water
They emerge tonight
Waddling along the highway
To cosy burrows
SNOWY
by Jordan S 3KB
Once upon a time, there was a very crazy, super fluffy black and white rabbit named Snowy. She lives in a small house with a lot of other animals and they drive her crazy. Snowy decided to create an escape plan.
First, she had to find a way to get out of her cage. So, one night, she kicked the front of her cage open and went up the stairs to the kitchen. All of a sudden, Snowy heard a banging sound. It was the doggy door opening and closing because of the wind. Snowy thought to herself “if the dog can fit through the doggy door, surely I can!”. Snowy hopped her way through the doggy door and out to the backyard.
When Snowy got through the doggy door, she soon realised that she had to creep past Tori the dog, who was fast asleep. Snowy had to do little bunny hops, so she didn’t wake up Tori. Hop, Hop, Hop. When Snowy reached the back of the yard, she was greeted by a huge fence!. She thought to herself “I can’t jump over it, I can't go through it, I have to go under it!.
Snowy started to dig the dirt away quickly to make a hole under the fence. Dirt was going everywhere! Poor Snowy’s paws were sore and tired after digging for 20 minutes. Finally, she made a big enough hole for her to go under the fence. Snowy started to feel nervous about escaping her home, because she had never seen what was on the other side of the fence. Snowy took a deep breath and went under the fence to the otherside. Snowy was never seen again.
