Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge
Message from the Premier
2018 Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge
Since the Challenge began in 2005, more than 2.5 million students in Victoria have read more than 45 million books. These are numbers worth celebrating, with the Challenge serving as a cornerstone of our ambitious goal to get more kids reading.
Research shows that reading plays a vital role in a child's development, helping students develop their academic, social and emotional skills. Whether casting a spell with Harry Potter, or hiding deep in the Australian bush with Hush the possum, the Challenge transports our youngest Victorians to different places and times - and in doing so, helps grow their love of reading.
Good luck for this year's Challenge. You've got some exciting reading adventures ahead.
The Hon Daniel Andrews MP
Premier of Victoria
