House Athletics Day

CSEN Cross Country

CSEN Cross Country was held at Boroondara Park on July 24. St Andrews did very well winning primary Division B as well as achieving lots of individual awards including Josh Deng (pictured) winning silver in the under 10 boys section.

House Athletics Day

On a lovely Spring afternoon on Friday August 24, Years 5-12 gathered at Knox Athletics track for House Athletics Day. The event was won by Deakin house overall, second Parkes and third Barton. The afternoon was completed with a fun Tug-of-war involving the two Year 12 homerooms and was won by Ms Demeester’s class! A great afternoon had by all and thanks to the parent helpers and teachers involved to make it such a special day.

Soccer at St Andrews

St Andrews would love to take this opportunity to thank Andrew Farmer who is creating a great community of soccer stars every Tuesday! If you see him around the College please don’t hesitate to thank him in person.

Congratulations to both the boys’ and girls’ Year 5/6 Soccer teams that made it through to the Knox Division Soccer finals at start of Term 3. On Monday July 23rd the Year 5/6 girls and boys team competed in these Knox Divisional finals - the best of 50 primary schools in the division.

The boys team won a game, drew a game and lost a game and finished 5th out of 8 boys teams. The girls team drew two games and lost one game and also finished 5th out of 8 teams. These are the best finishing positions by a St Andrews Team at this level of the competition! Fantastic effort by our two teams!

On Friday 25 May the Year 4 students were involved in producing a soccer skills video to be shown by Football Federation Australia to primary school teachers and soccer coaches. We were professionally filmed and the clips will be available through the FFA website.

At the end of Term 2 the 7/8 girls’ soccer team competed in the final against Lighthouse CC. Although they lost 4-2, it was a very worthy effort from all the players!

On Wednesday 8 August the Year 9/10 boys soccer team took on Belgrave Height Christian School at Egan Lea Reserve and won 4-2. It was St Andrews’ first senior Soccer match at home at Egan Lea Reserve as we have not been able to host matches previously. The game was covered by God’s promise with a beautiful rainbow right before it bucketed down with rain!

The Soccer revolution is gathering pace and results at St Andrews! Thanks for support!

Staff v Students Netball

On Thursday 28th June a spectacular mixed netball game took place with a team of staff vs year 12s in a charity match.  A debatable by some score saw the Year 12 Team take out the win!
