Yr 9 & 10 girls Outdoor soccer
On the 19th of May, the year 9 and 10 girls entered the western zone outdoor soccer round robin, where they had to face three schools to make the finals. SASC's first match was against Copperfield Sydenham. After such a great start, we had a few shots at goal which sailed just wide. The girls played really well and kept the score at half time to 0 - 0. However with 8 minutes to go Copperfield got a goal to make it 1 - 0. We had our moments but finished that game on the wrong end of the score line.
Our second game was against Taylor's lakes secondary college, a win would keep our chances of making the finals. We started poorly, but kept the game at 0-0 at half time. Everyone pushed forward as we needed to win, after lots of persisting we couldn't get the goal we needed. Unfortunately Taylor's Lakes quick fired two goals in 3 minutes and won the game 2 - 0. It was a closer game then the scoreboard suggested.
The girls had to face Gilson secondary college in the last game, it was such a close game but we ended the match 0 - 1 down concluding our day with 5th place out of 8 schools. Every single girl gave it their best efforts today. I am so proud of them and we will try to do even better next year.
Well done toall the girls.
