Dear Parents & Guardians

Last week we celebrated Education Week, with students and staff participating in a great range of activities, games and competitions.

Education Week is also an opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the wonderful contribution made by our teaching and education support staff to the students and families of St Albans Secondary College, as well as to the government school education system.

Very special congratulations to Mr Joe De Gabriele, Mr Craig Jennings and Ms Marion Mortimer who, this year, will complete 30 years of service with the Department of Education.  Mr Mario Agius and Ms Lynette French who will each complete 35 years; and to Mr Loue Traianou who completes an outstanding 45 years in education.  These milestones represent significant contributions to education and to the lives of many thousands of young people.

VCE Premier’s Award

Congratulations to Year 12 student, Garry Nguyen, who last year achieved a perfect score of 50 in Further Mathematics which he undertook as an acceleration subject in Year 11.

Garry was recognised for his outstanding achievement with a VCE Premiers Award at a ceremony held at Crown on Thursday 28 April, 2016.

Congratulation, also, to Garry’s teacher, Ms Kristy Le, for her contribution to Garry’s success in further Maths.

New arrival – welcome to Emile

We are really pleased to congratulate Ms Sandy Dorigo & Mr Nick Lovell on the arrival of their baby, Emile Raffaele.

All are doing well & we’re looking forward to meeting Emile.

Rotary Club of Brimbank Central Meeting

Four of our Year 10 student leaders attended a recent meeting of the Rotary Club of Brimbank Central to speak about their experience at the International Women’s Day Breakfast in March as guests of the club and to thank the club for their generous sponsorship of their attendance at this annual event at Crown Polladium.

The students also spoke about the Beacon program and the new Peer Mentoring Leadership program at Year 10.  They were excellent representatives of the school.
