Let's Celebrate!

Year 12 Celebration Day
On Tuesday 23rd of October we had our final school day for our year 12 graduating class. The day was planned in advance with guidance and suggestions from our College Captains, along with a small number of student representatives who, with the Senior School team arranged a jam packed fun day spent in the company of friends and teachers.
The day started with the traditional Kurunjang year 12 class dance which was held outside of C block before home group. The College was treated to a surprise ensemble of music and moves where a real crowd of students, teachers and staff watched in awe, amazement and perhaps even sheer interest of this ‘flash mob’ style dance. It was choreographed by students who were dressed in various costumes. People cheered, people laughed and it ended with streamers and confetti and a roar of applause, a nod and many unspoken congratulations.
Our year 12 Assembly followed, where students got the opportunity to hear from their elected captains one final time. Some funny awards were given out and students then assembled to have photos of themselves with their friends and class mates, in their costumes against the beautiful backdrop created by many of our year 12 VCAL students.
The fun spilled out onto the oval where a mini carnival took place which included jumping castles, sumo suits, blow up twister, popcorn, fairy floss and slushy drinks. These, along with a prepared playlist ensured hours of fun and games. When the sugar rush wore off, many admitted to being tired and hungry and this led to the final segment to this most special day – lunch with all year 12 home group teachers, subject teachers, support staff and principal class members.
Lunch took place in T4, there was not one empty chair in the room. It was great to see students and teachers sharing in one last lunchtime conversation. Some wonderful words of thanks were offered from our Captains to all staff that have helped them especially this year.
Whether you head off to further study, apprenticeship training or the world of full time work, know that you are part of Kurunjang Secondary College’s rich history.
On behalf of the College community, the Senior School team would like to wish our graduating class of 2018, all the very best always.
