LIBRARY

HOLIDAY BORROWING

Students will again be able to borrow books over the Christmas holidays. All books currently on loan must be returned before borrowing for the holidays. To see what items you have on loan please log into Oliver. Holiday borrowing will start after Monday 3 December 2018.

As well as fiction, the library has lots of resources for VCE students to use over the holiday. VCE students can browse the “Overnight Loan” section to look for resources to help with their studies.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to return all loans for 2018 before you can borrow over the holidays.

THE LIBRARY IS OPEN AGAIN!

After the finish of the VCE exams the library is open.  Please note we close at 4:30 for the remainder of the year.

NEW NON FICTION

Benn’s Books visited the school with some of the latest fiction releases. Students from the Book Club and interested staff selected new titles for the library. Use the following link to see a list of books added to the collection.

ANYONE WATCHING OUTLANDERS?

You might be interested in this book I found in the library.  The MacKinnon tartan seems to be very different our McKinnon tartan.

AUDIO BOOKS

New audio and ebooks have been added to our collection. To view these new titles please log in to Wheeler’s ebooks via the portal on the library homepage.

“WHERE ARE THE TEACHER LIBRARIANS?”

A recent letter to The Age asked the above question and got quite a few responses including the one below:

Thank you Catherine Ryan for your impassioned letter (14/11). Every student deserves access to a high quality, well-resourced and appropriately staffed school library. Working in the education sector I know of several schools that received funding to build a new library, but no funds to staff it, or fill it with literature for students. It is time the government tackles this issue so that another generation of students don't pass through their school years without access to the resources and support they desperately need.
