Yippee it’s week 3!!

Week 2 was another positive (and full) week of Remote Learning in the Discovery Centre. Thanks to the support of parents and older siblings, the Foundation students have blown us away with their responses. Their love of learning is really shining in these new and challenging times!

It was fantastic to read and hear about students’ weekends and encouraging that so many students had a go at writing their sentences before getting help! Remember, we don't know all the codes yet so we can only try our best to listen to the sounds that we hear and have a go at those codes.

The letter ‘Z’ was both a reading and writing focus as students practised the correct formation of the capital and lower case letter and searched their home for items beginning with the ‘Z’ sound.  We loved seeing all your very creative Zebras!

It is clear that MPRPS Foundation students are now Pattern Professionals, after spending the week spotting patterns in their home and making them with their bodies! We saw some very creative and impressive pattern jellyfish this week.

Another big thank you to all families who have been supporting students to learn from home! We recognise that it can’t be easy, but appreciate everything that you are doing. Please be assured that we understand if you are unable to complete all assigned learning activities and do not expect that you can do it all, every week. Please feel free to contact your child’s teacher via Sentral if you have any concerns, questions or feedback.

For those who would benefit from some additional learning material, we encourage you to access our MPRPS ‘Learning @ Home’ Website and the Education Department’s ‘Learning from home information for parents’ resources. There are also a variety of online platforms such as ‘Teach Starter’, that are providing free printable resources during this time of Online Learning.

These are a few of the learning activities that you have to look forward to this week! We cannot wait to see all of your wonderful responses again this week!

Stay safe and have a fantastic week.

Reminders

  • Check in videos will be posted at 10.00am and require a short response from students. This check in is how we monitor attendance, so encourage students to participate in this before 12.00pm if possible.
  • We are a partnership so if you have any questions or concerns please contact us through Sentral.
  • We encourage all students to have 30 minutes of physical activity each day that can be made up of shorter activities and spread throughout the day. Here are some ideas:
