We have been investigating communities. Students worked in pairs to brainstorm all the essential and important elements of a community, such as schools, hospitals, emergency services, sporting facilities, parks, waterparks, and rocket stations. Students then designed and planned a community of their own on paper, and used Minecraft Classic to build their own communities online.

“Using Minecraft to build our communities was really fun because it helped to bring my idea to life. I loved building the buildings and putting Steve’s in everywhere!” - Trina, 3/4B

“Minecraft was awesome because I could actually see what my community looked like. It was hard to move buildings around to better fit my plan. I liked using the computer.” - Nyoka, 3/4B
