Term One, 2020

A new school year has begun!

Welcome everyone to 2020 the "year of vision", as our Australian of the Year eye surgeon Dr James Muecke, of Adelaide, aptly put it.  A new year brings new goals, learning moments and opportunities for our Year 5 and 6 children to work towards and accomplish.

We are thrilled to embark on the 2020 school year with many upcoming exciting events and learning activities planned such as the Year 5  Sovereign Hill and Year 6 Canberra camps.

The year has started well with the Senior children participating in the Positive Start program where students build stronger connections with their peers and teachers.  The Positive Start program not only works on building connections, it also aims to provides students a deeper understanding of our school values that are:

-Respect

-Personal best

-Resilience

-Tolerance

We are also excited about our Electives program that will feature new experiences and old favourites, as well as the start of our weekly Book Club sessions later in the year (more information to come).

We welcome parent and carer involvement and participation in our school community.  We are currently looking for any volunteers for our learning support groups, Elective clubs and additional tasks such as laminating or covering books.  We are grateful for your support and we love that parents and families are able to be involved in our school community.  We are looking for parent volunteers for Book club sessions that will be running with parents in Term Two and for Term One we are running these with the classroom teacher and level.

We will continue to use Compass to keep parents updated on any news, happenings and upcoming events.
