NAIDOC WEEK

“Kutju Australia”

During the week of 8-15 November students from Prep to Year 6 enjoyed learning the song “Kutju Australia”. “Kutju Australia”, meaning ‘go forward Australia’, is a translation of the national anthem by Nararula Anderson into one of the few surviving traditional languages - Luritija. The students created a rhythmic accompaniment using traditional indigenous instruments.  Warrandyte Primary’s many outdoor learning spaces provided the perfect bush settings for exploring this NAIDOC week activity.
