Middle School dress-up day

The Spice Girls and David Beckham!

Film and TV Stars come to life

The 1st of December was the first day of summer and a day of celebration for the Year 9 and 10 cohort. Dress-up day was the unlikely hero that we needed to lift our spirits. Teachers and students came in all sorts of costumes from different films and TV shows, ranging from classic to crazy. While this was supposed to be a big year, with many internships, exchanges, and classes taking place, this dress-up day was a small victory that we clawed back from the time sink that was 2020.

While we were all back at school there still wasn't anything booked into our empty calendars, the Year 9/10 Social last year was a smash hit and we felt as though we had lost a major event. When the Middle School team had the idea to follow in the footsteps of the Junior Halloween dress-up day, we loved the idea and decided to have our own.

There were some amazing efforts made towards costumes such as Heathers, Ninja Turtles, the Spice Girls (plus David Beckham), Audrey Hepburn, Mike Wasowski, and Mr and Mrs Claus. Teachers came dressed up too: Ms Foley and Xanthe came as Daphne and Velma from Scooby Doo and Ms De Sousa made an excellent Bellatrix Lestrange. It was absolutely awesome to see so many people show up for this event. With such a popular turnout, this might become annual! So to all the movie buffs -  better get planning for next year's costume!
