Library and Resource Centre

Maryanne Gustus

As our School year comes to a close, it is my pleasure to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of some very clever and talented Year 9 boys.  Being skillfully and competently led by their Teacher, Mr. Tony Flavel, our Library has been the fortunate beneficiary of some wonderful new additions.

As you can see, we now have a splendid new Chess set, an amazing “Connect Four/Five game”, and a giant Jenga.  These three pieces have been used consistently since they arrived.

The year 9 students make up this Agriculture and Technology class.  I was able to talk to them when they delivered our new additions, the following are some of the comments I heard -

“We learnt how challenging it can be to use ‘teamwork’.”

“We had fun.”

“We achieved our goal, this gave us a real sense of achievement.”

“We are very grateful to Mr. Flavel."

We in the Library are very grateful to you Year 9 students, and of course Mr. Flavel too. What you have created for the Library shall always mean that there exists here a little piece of your presence.   These wonderful games shall of course be used here in the Library, but will also be available to take on Year Level camps and Retreats.

May we Library staff take this opportunity to offer you all in our precious Monivae Community a beautiful and Blessed Christmas.  Enjoy the simple things, friends, love, relationship and family.

How we shall look forward to a promising new year in 2021. May it bring more connections, new energy, and many new adventures and challenges for us all.

“May you be filled with Loving Kindness

  May you be well

May you be peaceful, and at ease

  May you be happy.”
